Tuluá‏

Hey everyone, hows it going?

This week was pretty crazy. So I’m out in the field in a city called Tuluá, it is north of Cali in la valle de cauca. My companion is Elder Rodriguez, he is from Honduras and he only has two months left on his mission. He is the only member in his family and was initially called to Peru, but that got changed by a breakdown of revolution between Peru and Central America. He is a really spiritual dude, but he speaks almost no english, so it’s a bit of a struggle. Our apartment is up five flights of stairs...... but it has three bedrooms for just the two of us. We have a kitchen and a washing machine and three bathrooms, two of which work. The roof leaks when it rains but it’s pretty cool. We have a person who cooks us lunch every day except Sunday. We usually only eat lunch though. If we eat out like today, we call her and she doesn't make it. For laundry, I wash my clothes then air dry them.

I bought some Colombian soccer jerseys today, they are really sweet. I only paid 34,000 pesos for two, which is like $14. They are yellow and blue. Our first week has been a little rough, we are both new to the area and it’s been tough contacting in the unknown. But we had a really cool lesson with a man named Nestor. We had contacted his son (who is also named Nestor) near some soccer fields near our apartment. His son wasn't there, so we taught him. He originally met missionaries in Spain, when he was living there for a while. He prayed about the church and said he felt something, but he wasn't sure where the answer came from, We showed him the new church video, Because He LivesAfterwards we bore testimony of revelation through prayer, he seemed really receptive when we left. We are going to teach him again in a couple of days. Praying for the best.

Love you all, Elder Westfall
